TIP 1 - CHOOSE A BOLD COLOUR PALETTE

A bold bedroom needs a strong color scheme. You can go for a monochromatic scheme or mix it up with multiple colors. Choose colors that match your style, and don't be afraid to experiment. If you're unsure, start with a bold statement wall and then bring in accent colors with bedding and accessories.

In our North London project, our client asked us to used a tuscany red color for all walls, skirting and doors. The paint colour used here is from Little Greene. Check out more paint colours on they website!

TIP 2 - ADD TEXTURE & PATTERNS

To make your bold bedroom design feel cozy and inviting and unique, you'll want to incorporate textures & patterns. Rachel from Rachel Battais Interiors personally prefers subtle patterns but bold colors. For the texture, we always make sure we mix velvet with cotton and linen together as it will give a very luxurious feel to your space.

These textures & patterns could be in items such as your bedding, rugs or carpet, curtains, throw as well as scatter cushions.

Just make sure to choose patterns that complement each other and create a cohesive look.

Here we used Schumacher fabrics with contrasted piping from Warwick and red front cushions which pick up the tone of the headboard fabric, which was sourced from our favorite fabric supplier Romo.

TIP 3 - ACCESSORIES & ARTWORKS

Oversized artwork can give your bedroom a unique personality and make a bold statement. You can add bold artwork with bold and unique accessories, as well as statement lighting. Just make sure they complement your color scheme and don't overpower the room.

TIP 4 - LIGHTING

Lighting is an essential part of any room design. For a cozy bedroom, you'll want to choose lighting that is both functional and expressive. Consider using statement lighting fixtures or adding accent lighting to highlight your favorite pieces of decor.

TIP 5 - DESIGN YOUR BEDROOM INSPIRED BY YOUR JOURNEY

Design a bedroom that reminds you of all the places you have visited and all the memories you have made.

Perhaps add elements that transport you to the destination of your choice- an Italian style carpet from Milan, an antique bed frame from a local antique shop, a tapestry of the Eiffel Tower for Paris, or a colorful quilt from Mexico.

Let your imagination run wild and create a space that tells your unique travel story. Who knows, it might just be the perfect motivational tool for your next adventure.
