Our Story

Founded in 2020, Rachel Battais Interiors is a London based interior design and architecture studio specialising in luxury residential projects for private clients and property developers throughout the UK and Europe. 

The studio is run by husband and wife, John and Rachel, who bring over 40 years’ combined experience in designing and creating exceptional homes and apartments in the UK and throughout the world.

Our approach

Offering a highly personalised design service, our focus is on creating bespoke, considered interiors that capture our clients’ needs and dreams. John and Rachel place particular importance on the practicality, comfort and budgets of the homes we design, ensuring a stunning result that is liveable and inviting.

We work with skilled craftspeople and trustworthy suppliers, to ensure that we create unique and timeless interiors.

We work very closely with each client to provide a highly personal and adaptable service and design.

Rachel Battais

RACHEL BATTAIS

French-born and graduate of Art School Ecole Boulle in Paris were Rachel studied interior and furniture design and then moved to London in 2009 where she started her professional career.
With experience in various studios, from Christian Liaigre, Harrods Studio, Argent Design, Hazel Collins and Rachel Winham; Rachel has been developing stunning homes for HNW and UHNW clients here in the UK and worldwide.

In her most recent role before launching her Studio she was the Design Manager leading the team on numerous projects ensuring that every project is detail driven and seamlessly designed through a highly personalised bespoke service.

Rachel has been exposed to all aspects of the job from initial client contact & brief to full project completion, installation and styling.

JOHN ALLSOPP

John has been a registered architect for over 20 years. Before launching his own studio, he held senior positions at Kelly Hoppen & Argent Design. John’s work has consistently been driven by the needs for personal, bespoke service for demanding clients and contexts while delivering the highest levels of design.

His work experience includes a number of residences, fine dining restaurants and luxury resorts - in locations from London to mainland Europe, the United States, the Far East, the Indian Ocean, Brazil and the Caribbean.

John is a multiple international design competition awardee. His personal work has been featured by the Times, BBC, Wired Magazine and architectural software developers Graphisoft, amongst others. John was recently included in the under-40’s group of the Power List in London.

Rachel Battais Interiors can provide full interior design and architectural services, for your entire home or on a room by room basis. This might include spatial planning, consultation and project management, to complete refurbishment and furnishing of luxurious residential homes and developments.

  • Don’t know where to start with your project? Perhaps if you are starting a full renovation project and need a more hands-on approach from concept to completion, this is where the full interior design service would be the right thing for you.
